Baked (Cowboy) Beans
Updated: May 4, 2020
Along with my smoked brisket I always make a pot of Baked (cowboy) Beans. Just a few ingredients and about 15 minutes.

I have been told many times that these baked beans are a meal in themselves. It is a hearty side dish that really "sticks to your ribs".
Ingredients:
2Lbs Lean ground beef
2 18oz cans "Bushs Bourbon and Brown Sugar" baked beans
3tbsp Driskell's Original BBQ Beef Dry Rub
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
4oz water
Directions:
Brown ground beef in 4-8qt pot, strain excess grease, return ground beef to pot and return to heat on medium. season with DOB Beef Dry Rub, add 1/4 cup brown sugar, add "Bush's Bourbon and Brown Sugar" baked beans, mix well add 4 oz of water. simmer on low heat at a slow boil for 10 minutes to allow all flavors to blend. Stir well and enjoy!
